Heart Is A Doorway

“Emotion just comes and goes as it’s passing through the blockages in the heart. If somebody’s able to just sit there with the opening and closing and these really deeper movements in the heart, they don’t have to deal with the emotions. They’ll stop. Don’t worry.

They’ll turn into love. You’ll just have pure energy passing through your heart.” Michael Singer

Sitting there with the deep movements in the heart might feel out of reach. We can take systematic steps to increase our resilience and widen our window of tolerance.

First, we work with our resistance to life being as it is. The mind creates a lot of chatter about potential threats and what should and should not be. This is the nature and function of this part of the mind and it doesn’t stop. Instead, we learn to witness our thoughts.

The same is true for the comings and goings in our heart, the root of much of the activity and compulsion in the mind. We are sensitive to rejection, in part because inclusion is necessary for survival. Our mind starts up, we feel anxious or jittery, or we shut down. We have sensitive hearts to protect and we want to be open to joy in life.

Energy in the heart and emotion arise because of blockages. What are some of the cracks and dense parts of your heart, both from the past and now in this moment? What are you grieving? What can you not afford to feel?

“The heart is the fourth chakra, not the seventh. It is the door to spiritual states. Our work is with the consciousness coming to bear in the heart, to be there with it, to bear witness.

We have the mind being quiet and we have the heart being a neat place to be.

Now you’re ready to take your spiritual journey.” Michael Singer
