Yoga nidra is more than the delicious resting shavasana practice at the end of yoga class. It is a way to deeply rest while remaining awake and alert. It works directly with the unconscious mind, a source of many of the compulsive thoughts that are in the way of experiencing deep silence and peace. Yoga Nidra is the only known way to rest the unconscious mind.

It is a state of conscious sleep in which a person is both alert and deeply relaxed on a physical, nervous system, mental and emotional level. For thousands of years, meditation masters have used the methods of sleepless sleep (Yoga Nidra) to learn the secrets of the Self, to discover depths of sciences and arts, and to rejuvenate and heal themselves. It becomes easier to access our intuition to make decisions, find answers to philosophical questions, learn, and to maintain a positive state of mind.

Reducing stress through yoga nidra supports and improves physical and mental health. We discover how to get the deep rest we need each day while reducing our need for sleep.

This course is for yoga teachers AND you are also welcome to join us if you would like to deepen your own practice of yoga nidra, use it as a massage therapist or in another healing practice, or with your family, friends or colleagues. Deep rest is beneficial for all of us.

This six week course is designed for anyone wanting to go more deeply into the state of yoga nidra, as well as those wanting to teach informally or formally.

We often do yoga nidra practices during my live guided daily practice at 8AM Eastern and you are welcome to join us any day. You can listen to the guided practices below on Insight Timer or my YouTube channel. And you can join us for the course!
